If you need a Home Made Headlice Remedy , don't worry.

While surging the web, you may have found that there are many so called "natural" remedies to cure a case of head louse. Fact is however, there really are only 4 basic ways to deal with the problem. Generally, all treatment options can actually be placed into 1 of these four groups.

***** Let's Look at the 4 Different Treatment Options *****

1. Home made head louse treatments. These are based on ideas from well meaning people that think using greasy food products like mayo, peanut butter, olive oil, etc. can smother the pests. While it may cause the bugs to slow down, it doesn't kill them.

While good in theory, most home lice treatments are nothing more than old wives tales. Sure, look long enough on the Web and you can find people who will jump up and down claiming spreading peanut butter on your childs head works to kill louse. Then again, if you look long enough you can find people who claim to be space aliens also. See the problem?

Finding the Right Home Remedies to Rid Head Lice that WILL ACTUALLY WORK FOR YOU and has been proven to work against the bugs is not so easy. For this reason, I stear clear of these testamonials and personal solutions.

These remedy options offer little hope though some have claimed success, many others have reported these same remedy ideas as failures.

2. All mechanical means to remove the parasites and eggs involve carefully combing from hair follicle to the tip of the hair. It's a big chore in someone with long hair. Still, it is an effective method of insect removal as long as you don't miss even a single nit.

3. Bug poison or insecticide based shampoos. Whether you get them from the doctor, locally or from the Internet, they all kill using a poison. These products do a good job if you don't mind using poison on your kids hair. Don't forget all the scratching and itching has probably caused open sores on their heads which is a good way for the shampoo to get into their bodies.

4. Essential oil based shampoos. These use natural antiseptic and other ingredients that are toxic to the pests. These products also have special natural additives that provide relief for the itching and need to scratch.

Here's an essential oil based product that kills the pests and is an effective natural treatment remedy though not truly a home made remedy. It does require use at home however.

So decide which treatment option is preferred by you and your child. Be prepared for the other issues however if you chose a Home Made Headlice Remedy. Even if these DID work, the Home Made Headlice Remedy level of difficulty to completely get rid of the insects is just to much for most people

I personally like the idea of using a nit comb regardless of the kind of shampoo or head louse remedy used. It's cheap insurance that everything has been removed from your child's hair and the infestation has been stopped.

As for shampoo type, you can't go wrong using the safer essential oil shampoo products.
