Head Lice Treatments
For Your Family

No one wants to live with an itchy, scratchy scalp because some head lice treatments that were claimed by someone to work didn't do the job.

There are really only 3 solutions to the problem of lice. You should select one of the two shampooing options then follow up with the mechanical removal.

The mechanical removal is simply combing through the hair of an infested person to remove all remaining nits, nymphs and adult louse that may remain after the shampoo treatment.

Shampoos are an effective product as long as you follow the directions. If the directions say to re-treat in 7-10 days, DO IT. There are many complaints on the Internet that state that this product or that product do not work. The problem usually wasn't the product however but that they failed to follow the instructions completely.

Re-infestations, or getting the head lice back is usually blamed on the shampoo or products used. Once again, the problem is people trying to cut corners with the treatment.

You MUST clean and remove any potential traces of head lice in your home. This means linens, combs, etc. need to be disinfected BEFORE a freshly shampooed head uses the brush or lies down.

Think about it...

Lice can live a few days off a person.

Lice can fall off an infested head of hair and remain on a pillow or hairbrush

You clean your child's head and KNOW there aren't anymore lice.

Child goes to bed and the louse, waiting for the next human head, jumps back onto the recently clean scalp of your child

RESULT:
Visible re-infestation within 7-10 days.

Was it the fault of the shampoo product?---NO!
Did the person use the product correctly?---YES

The problem was that the parent didn't complete the treatment process allowing the child's hair to get re infested.

This is the major cause of complaints about most products and it's not that the product doesn't work it's that the treatment process wasn't followed exactly.

In the end, only you can make certain your home is free from head lice. Products such as the ones featured on this site are known to be effective and work well. Of course, you need to follow the directions.
