OK, so you dutifully picked out your head lice treatment of choice, either an insecticide-based shampoos or one of the more natural products on the market, and need to know what to do next. Place these in large plastic trash bags and store out of the way for two weeks. This will give plenty of time for any lice, and nits or nymphs to die, which will prevent re-infestation.

4. Thoroughly soak all combs and brushes for at least one hour in rubbing alcohol or very hot soapy water greater than 130°.

5. Vacuum any fabric covered chairs, sofas, etc. this will collect any head lice that may have inadvertently fallen off and maybe waiting for another victim on the furniture.

Headlice control relies on breaking the cycle of re-infestation. While there are always someone who claims that something works for a problem, most of us want a solution that is KNOWN to work.
