head Louse Cure

What you Should Know About any Head Louse Cure

Head Louse are a blood sucking lice parasite that uses your family as a host to live on.  Head louse are very common and actually are exploding in the number of children being infested with these bugs.  The reason is that children are the most likely hosts due to their generous nature and willingness to share.  Combs, brushes and hats are the most common ways that headlice are contracted.

Head lice are not peculiar to any ethnicity and as well it is not an indication of the personal hygiene of the family or child.  No matter how healthy and hygienically clean a family may be, if they have hair, they're at risk.

Head Louse Problems Are Easy to See:

Simply check behind the ears and at the nape of the neck for infestation symptoms.  Move the hair against the natural lay and look for attached nits no more than about an inch from the scalp.  Some people mistake dandruff for lice so care must be taken.  Dandruff is flaky and will fall from the head while head louse and nits will continue to stay firmly attached.

Before attempting any head louse cure it is important to make certain that your child actually has the problem.  This is because many of the treatments and cures for head lice are insecticide or poison based and can have undesired side effects.

Symptoms Seen by Behavior that may Indicate Lice:

Symptoms of head lice can be seen in the way a child may tend to their hair.  Lice makes the scalp itchy and scratching will be noticeably increased.

Treatment Cures for Head Lice
There are a number of treatments that are available from the drug store but are the ones that use insecticides as an ingredient.  More natural products work to loosen the nits and slow the lice movement so removing by a nit comb is more practical.  There are other head louse cures that are made from natural ingredients and provide a home remedy cure option.

There are some very good way to cure head louse naturally, but you also need to be careful because there are many that aren't so good. Actually, they're crazy!
How about peanut butter on your child's head and wrap in plastic, leave for 10-12 hours etc.... Whoever came up with these types of treatments don't understand the nature of a small child keeping anything like that on their head for more than a few minutes.

(don't write complaining and saying it worked for you. No matter how crazy the treatment idea, there seems to be someone who has tried it and is claiming success with the method. Just because it worked for one person's circumstances, doesn't mean it should be tried by anyone else.)

Whatever treatment of cure you choose be aware that it's important to follow the instructions completely and accurately.  If the directions say to work into the scalp and allow to set 30 minutes, don't stop at 29 minutes.  Most products that fail are due to consumers NOT following the directions.

A good example of this is the second follow up treatment.  Many products say to follow up another treatment in 7-10 days.  Some of the less toxic options suggest treating every day for 3-5 days.  If you don't follow this timely advice, be prepared to be fighting the head louse problem again in a couple of weeks.

Even a single head louse nit or egg can completely re-infest a child's head in less than 6-8 weeks.
